Welcome to my website.
I have travelled all around Great Britain for many years, taking photos of battlefields, battle re-enactments and living history.
Re-enactors bring to life scenes from the past, and are a type of memorial to the people who haved lived before us. They make history more easily understood and
create interest in the past, they are very knowledgeable and are all approachable and welcome questions, please do not be afraid to approach them.
I hope you like what you see, please feel free to leave me any comments or any suggestions you may have.

Neville Mead ( General ) 12 Sept 1948 - 13 March 2010
Neville was a jamacian born boxer, who emigrated to the UK, settled
in Swansea in South Wales.
He rose to prominence when he won the Heavyweight Division at the 1974 Commonwealth games in New Zealand.
He turned professional in 1974 and won the Welsh Heavyweight title in 1976 and then followed this with the British title in 1981.
He retired in 1983 after a failed defence of the british title.
He had 20 professional wins, 18 came via Knockouts.
He died of cancer.
I was privileged to know him in the RAF Regiment, at RAF Catterick, I played poker with him in a card school held in the laundry room every friday night.
He was a born sportsman, he always threw the shotput further than anyone else and ran the 100 meters in a record time.
In the Regiment he was called The General, a nicer man you could never meet. I thought of him as a gentle giant. I can remember him showing round his Commonwealth medal, he was just his normal self, very calm. I have always thought of him over the years. I am sorry he had such an early death. He was a special man.

Richard Holmes - Military Historian - Obituary
Professor Richard Holmes CBE has died age 65 of cancer. He will never be replaced as an historian interested in telling the story of the ordinary soldier in his documentaries. He wrote more than 20 books, which will be in print for a very long time. I have watched his documentaries time after time. He covered all subjects with equal vim and vigour. He did not glorify war. A sad loss.
Introduction
The history of a country should be a subject a subject of interest to all its people. It should concern them to learn how the National life has evolved, to its existing forms, through what processes of change it has passed. How some revolutions have been swift and stormy, whilst others have been gradual and silent, but none the less effective. A nation is not born in a day. The history is one which all citizens may be justly proud, and for which we should be grateful. Civil and religious rights now enjoyed, were won by their forefathers after centuries of wrong and suffering and have been transmitted as a priceless heritage to us.
